A 25-year-old analyst arrested for filtering classified information

A young federal contractor was arrested for allegedly filtering information classified as secret to a media outlet, the first person charged with this type of crime since the arrival of President Donald Trump to the White House.
Reality Leigh Winner, 25, who worked for Pluribus International Corporation in Georgia, is accused of "removing classified material from a government facility and mailing it to a media outlet."

According to CNN, Winner allegedly leaked a classified report from the National Security Agency (NSA) to The Intercept website about alleged cyberattack of Russian military intelligence to various entities related to the past presidential elections.

Winner, who was arrested on June 3, admitted that she intentionally leaked the document, authorities said. The Intercept communications director, Vivian Siu, said they received the classified document anonymously.
The girl, facing a sentence of up to 10 years in prison, did not plead guilty Monday in her appearance in court. The judge will determine during a hearing that he will take place this Thursday if he leaves her on bail.

"I think she's trying to be brave for me," Billie Winner's mother, who was shocked by the problem in which her daughter is involved, told CNN. "She has never given me any sign that she was in favor of that," she added. "I do not know how to explain it".
The founder of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange asked for compassion for Winner, whom she praised for making known to the public the secrets that Guard the intelligence services.
