Celebrities join forces with victims of landslide in Colombia

The authorities report, so far, 234 people dead and more than 200 missing.

Colombia is experiencing one of its worst crises in terms of natural disasters. Last Friday a landslide devastated with part of the municipality of Mocoa, in the department of Putumayo, in the border with Ecuador. The overflow of three rivers caused tons of earth and rocks to reach the city and take everything in its wake. So far, authorities report a preliminary balance of 234 deaths and more than 200 missing.





Faced with such a scenario, several South American leaders as well as Latin celebrities have joined in showing solidarity and support with those most in need. Shakira, Carlos Vives, Juanes, J Balvin, Alejandro Sanz and others joined forces to help the Colombian people.
Shakira used her Twitter account to call on the international community to send relief to the victims of the catastrophe.
Juanes retweeted all the messages that could be useful for those affected and to locate the disappeared.


Carlos Vives, who is on tour in Spain, has published a video in which he expresses all his love, support and affection towards the inhabitants of Mocoa.
J Balvin joined the show of affection for the Colombian people and published a powerful image in his Instagram account.
