Ten things you need to know about '13 Reasons Why ', the series that Selena Gomez brings to Netflix

Selena Gomez, executive producer of this new show on Netflix, has said that the theme of the series, focused on a teenager who commits suicide by a series of tragic circumstances and emotional harassment, "touches very closely."

DOS: 13 Reasons Why is based on the successful novel of the same name, written by Jay Asher and published in 2007. The book came to be # 1 on the New York Times bestseller list in 2011.



THREE: Universal Pictures acquired the book's rights in 2011, with the intention of making it a film starring Selena Gomez.
FOUR: Finally the central role of the series, the high school student Hannah Baker, played the Australian actress Katherine Langford.

FIVE: Selena Gomez has said that when she started production on the show, "she was going through a very difficult period." The singer is referring to the three months that, after canceling 30 dates of her Revival tour, spent in a treatment center to deal with "anxiety, panic attacks and depression," which she attributes to her constant battle with lupus. Since then, Dylan has starred in, among others, the films Let Me In and Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, in addition to appearing in numerous TV series.

SEVEN: Dylan Minette also has a musical career. He is a singer and guitarist for indie rock band The Narwhals, with whom he won a band battle in Los Angeles and played on the 2011 Vans Warped Tour.

EIGHT: Dylan has confessed to having talked a lot of music with the show's creator, Brian Yorkey, and that some of his song suggestions ended up in the excellent soundtrack of the series.

NINE: Another of the main roles in the series - and the only Latin - is Tony. It corresponded to Christian Navarro, an actor born and raised in the Bronx. Before 13 Reasons Why, Christian starred in such series as Vinyl and Rosewood.

TEN: The 13 episodes of the show will premiere simultaneously on Netflix on March 31st.
