Rihanna becomes the 'Humanitarian of the Year' by Harvard University

Her goodwill made her worthy of this recognition.

In her career as a singer, Rihanna is one of the most successful that does not stop working on new records and tours. In addition, she makes space in her agenda to dedicate herself to design, an example that as an entrepreneur has served for thousands of young people who listen to her music. But Barbadian work does not end there, although she could dedicate herself to enjoy the good life without any concern, the 29 year old girl has a great heart and focuses on helping the people of her native country to overcome and, in The worst case, to treat complicated diseases such as breast cancer. That generosity did not go unnoticed before the prestigious Harvard University, where she received a recognition by her philanthropy.
The university chose Rihanna to award the Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian Award on the Massachusetts campus. The reasons that led the institution to choose the singer are many, but all associated with the goodwill she has had with people, reflected in their countless charitable causes.

Perhaps the most important was to have built a state-of-the-art center dedicated to oncology and nuclear medicine. The site serves to promptly diagnose and treat breast cancer at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, located in Bridgetown, Barbados. To make matters worse, she also participated in the creation of a scholarship program of the Fundación Clara and Lionel. With it, she supports economically the Caribbean youth that seeks to surpass and study in the United States.

On several occasions, Rihanna has stated that for her it is "an honor to be able to give away education". "I am very happy to be able to participate in this," she told USA Today about the foundation she created in 2012, where she also focuses on funding projects focused on health, art, Education and culture. Rihanna does shine like a diamond!

Those disinterested acts were the ones who took her to meet Prince Harry in person during her recent trip to the Caribbean. The Barbadian and English immediately clicked and got on so well that the good chemistry between them was seen from a distance. Rihanna supported the Prince in his work to prevent and detect the HIV virus in time, and she was tested with the people to corroborate that there is nothing to worry about.

The recognition received by Rihanna is granted only to people who have led to positive social changes. Among the previous winners is the actor, James Earl Jones; The young women's rights advocate, Malala Yousafzai; And the former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-mon.
