Nordstrom will no longer sell Ivanka Trump's clothing: "We always remove lines that do not sell well"

Although they have seen several protests by a group called Grab Your Wallet, the department store said they decided to remove the Ivanka Trump brand because it is not sold

This week the department store Nordstrom announced that it will stop selling Ivanka trump's clothing line. The President's daughter's brand has been embroiled in a controversy since Donald trump was elected the 45th President of the United States, as it is believed that there may be a conflict of interest with his company and the US government. Ivanka's line has also been protested by a group called Grab Your Wallet, but in a press release Nordstrom said that they decided to eliminate the assortment of the brand as it "does not sell well."

"We always make decisions based on product performance," a Nordstrom representative told the Fortune newspaper, "and in this case, we have decided not to buy Ivanka's line again this season." The company said that it usually exchanges 10% of its annual product when it is not sold, and that this time Ivanka Trump's clothing, shoes and accessories have been sold little.

Although the department store has sold the controversial line since 2011, Peter Nordstrom, the co-president of the company, told his employees in an internal email "No matter what we do, we will end up disappointing some of our customers. Every brand we offer is evaluated for its results, but if people do not buy it, we will not sell it. "
Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, were official members of Donald Trump's transition team, which is considered an official political position. Last November the President's eldest daughter was heavily criticized after her company sent a promotional mail to several journalists. That email was an advertisement to buy a bracelet of $ 10,800 that she used during an official interview as the daughter of the President-elect. The mail was labeled "opportunistic," but the company fought back quickly, blaming an employee "with good intentions," CBS News reported.

Some media have hinted that Ivanka, the president's favorite daughter, could take the First Lady's place in an informal way. Ivanka's representatives have denied the insinuations, but Jared Kushner's wife has been much more involved in politics than her stepmother, Melania. For example, it was Ivanka who recently hosted a meeting between her father and Al Gore, the former Vice President of the United States.
