BREAKING NEWS : Former Miss Italia contestant, Veronica Sogni dies at age 28

Miss Italia is mourning the tragic and unexpected death of Veronica Sogni, a beautiful young model who was a finalist for the beauty contest in 2009. She lost the battle against breast cancer at the age of 28. Through a press release, the organization released the sad news of the death of Veronica.

"An angel with short hair, with a head full of dreams, like her surname (Sogni means dreams), has flown to the sky," reads the message spread by the beauty contest organizers. Three years ago, after participating as Miss Milan - where she was a finalist and won one of the secondary prizes - doctors detected the disease in Christmas 2012.

In addition to modeling, she also dedicated to participate in television programs as Factor X, as she possessed great qualities for singing and acting. Sogni was one of the most popular faces on Italian television.

In spite of the doctors' diagnosis, the young model gave a determined fight to the disease, which caused her to shave completely the head and to accept the physical changes that left the chemotherapy. "I've never felt embarrassed," she told Italian media back then. "In fact, I've learned to like myself that way. In the past I tried all the possible cuts and colors for my hair. This is really a novelty now, "she said jokingly about her new look.

Although Sogni fought the disease, it spread to the liver, just as she began to feel better. For the beautiful model, that was a great blow but did not stop her in her fight and also continued to work until the last of her days.
