It all comes about because Selena's new romantic interest is just the ex-boyfriend of Bella Hadid, sister of Gigi Hadid who in turn is considered one of Gomez's best friends.

According to an InTouch publication, Gigi is not happy about Selena dating The Weeknd, she even believes Selena broke a very important code of friendship. Gigi's annoyance is so great that she chose to ignore Selena, to the extent that she does not want to answer her phone calls. "Since Gigi heard that Selena was dating her sister's ex, she chose to evade her. She even refuses to receive her calls," the site details.

Public displays of affection between Selena and Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, came to light only two months after the singer had ended his intermittent relationship of almost two years with Bella Hadid.
