Sylvester Stallone rejects a charge in the administration of Donald Trump

Having a job in the United States administration could be the dream of many, but not that of actor Sylvester Stallone who did not accept a position in the administration of President-elect Donald Trump. The film's main character, Rocky, has rejected the presidency of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), saying he could be more helpful in working for his country's veterans.

In a statement obtained by People magazine, the 70-year-old actor said he prefers to serve the US government by working for veterans. "I think I can be more effective by drawing attention to the military personnel returning to our country to find them jobs, adequate housing and the financial assistance that these heroes deserve," he said.

Last week, several reports indicated that Trump had contacted Stallone to offer him a position in his administration. The NEA is responsible for distributing government grants to art organizations. Stallone is not the only one who has met or who has been contacted by the president-elect. Kanye West visited the Trump Tower in New York last week and had a 15-minute meeting with the tycoon.

Stallone has been helping organizations that support veterans and war wounded for years. According to the newspaper El País, in 2015 auctioned through Heritage Auctions more than 1,400 objects and memorabilia from the films Rocky and Rambo to raise funds to help the ex-combatants of the United States.
