Justin Trudeau, the 'guilty' behind the Obama Christmas card

With the arrival of the Christmas season,
can not miss family cards full of good wishes. President Obama, his wife Michelle, and their daughters, Malia and Sasha, could not miss this beautiful tradition in what will be their last Christmas in the White House. Looking for an image that reflects the great year they have had, it was not surprising that they chose a photograph of what would be the first and only state dinner of the Obama girls at the presidential residence. What has taken everyone by surprise is who was the instigator of this image, none other than Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada and guest of honor that night.
This year, many of the most famous families in the world preferred to use a picture from a few months ago instead of taking one specific for the Christmas card.
That's why no one was surprised that the image of the Obama was one of last March, but thanks to White House photographer Pete Souza, it was possible to know more about how the special portrait was chosen.
"This family. What can I say. What an honor to have photographed them for eight years. A few months ago, the Social Office came to me to tell me that they were thinking of using a familiar photo for the White House party card. So I thought of Justin Trudeau. I know you're wondering what the hell I'm talking about. Earlier this year we received the Prime Minister of Canada at a state dinner. Malia and Sasha were invited.
Before dinner, I took a family photo at the White House. But later, when the Trudeau arrived, the two families spent time on the Truman Balcony with their respective delegations, "begins the anecdote of Pete.
"At some point, the Prime Minister asked me if we could take a picture of him, his wife and the Obama family. Click, click, click. Then he told me to take a single photo of the Obamas. I could have said, 'Sir, we already had one before you arrived.' But instead, I took some quick pictures. And can you believe it? It was the photo that Justin Trudeau asked me to take the one everyone loved to be the White House's 2016 greeting card. "

And how not to do it, if the family could not be happier in this photograph that reflects much of what has been seen of them in the last eight years. Family unity, fun and lots of warmth, are just some of the elements that made this a perfect image. Surely, the Prime Minister also remembered this anecdote when he received the card at his home in Canada.
